We are excited to announce the arrival of eleven celebrities to Waterhall country House Hotel

CelebAir is an exciting new reality TV show on ITV2. Angelica Bell will host the show as a group of celebritites take to the skies in a real plane, with real passengers, jetting of on real holidays.

Of course, the celebs won’t be in the air all the time and when they do get time out they need somewhere to eat, sleep and relax. Production company Endemol chose Waterhall Country House to provide the celebrities with the comfort, privacy and service they would expect.

See how they get on (and catch a glimpse of the hotel at the same time) by tuning into ITV2 on Tuesday nights, at 9:00pm (repeated Thurday at 8:00pm and Saturday at 8:30pm

Sarah and I realise the importance of first impressions so we decided to redecorate the reception are here at Waterhall. Below are some pictures showing the results of our toils.

Anyone who can remember the old reception will recall a somewhat dingy area that was small on space due to a bad layout. The new reception features a built-in desk which fits neatly into the existing brickwork, opening the reception up. A nice wooden seating area makes use of a bizarre indoor rockery without the need for major construction work and gives guests somewhere to sit.

All-in-all our new reception offers a much more welcoming feel to the hotel.

As part of our reception regeneration project we have taken to opportunity to replace the keyrings. Gone are the old ‘tennis balls on a rope’ (good riddance), in are numbered wooden slices.

The keyrings serve the same bulky purpose as their predecessors (this stops people taking them on holiday by mistake) whilst looking much more at home in newly refurbished reception.

The front of the keyring show the room number, the rear shows a ‘W’ for Waterhall.

Sarah and I made the keys ourselves starting with a log I found in the garden. The local saw mill sliced it into sizable chunks and we glued on wooden numbers bought online. A couple of coats of varnish added the finishing touches.

So far the new keyrings have been well received, but no-one is more relieved that we are to not have to hand out a dogs toy to each of our guests!

We took the decision to get some new business cards made up to compliment the design of the new site. We’ve got 2000 being printed. Here’s a preview of the new design:

Waterhall Country House Hotel has seen off some stiff competition and reclaimed the number one slot on popular hotel comparison site Tripadvisor.com. We are now listed as the number one bed and breakfast hotel in the area.
