Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a query regarding our service you may wish to check it hasn't already been answered below before contacting us. If not, or you still require further information please don't hesitate to call us.
Q: How far are you from Gatwick Airport and how long does it take to get there?
A: We are roughly four miles from the the terminal buildings and the journey takes roughly ten minutes.
Q: How do we get to the airport?
A: Our transfers to Gatwick are done by a local taxi firm. We use them every day and they are extremely reliable. There is no need to book your taxi in advance, we will organise this for you when you check in.
Q: Do you do Gatwick parking?
A: Yes. We charge £10 per week. Whilst you are away we will lock your keys in our safe.
Q: Will my car be moved whilst I am away?
A: All our parking is on-site however we occasionally need to move cars to give us access to the hedgerows and verges so we can keep the place neat and tidy. If your car is moved it would only be a few yards and never leave our car park.
Q: Can I park first and then stay when I come back?
A: Yes. People requesting this service often land later than our last check in time of 10pm. This is not a problem. When you drop off the car we will show you where your room will be and how to access it after we have locked up.
Q: Can I have the car parking only without staying the night?
A: No. You must book a room to qualify for our parking.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We require you to inform us 48 hours before the date of your stay to avoid all charges. Provided you cancel before 3pm at least two days before your intended arrival we will not charge you a penny.
Q: Do you require a deposit?
A: No. However we will ask for your credit card details as a guarantee. Please note that the card must be in date on the date you wish to stay.
Q: Can I check in later than 10pm?
A: Unfortunately not. We are not a 24 hour hotel and effectively close at 10:00pm. Guests who are checked in can come and go as they please all night, however, as our evening staff go home at 10pm, there is no-one available to handle late-night check-ins. If you get unavoidably delayed en route please phone ahead and let us know.
Q: Can I check in earlier than 3pm?
A: We only have a small window to turn the hotel around but we can organise earlier check-ins by prior arrangement. If you require a room very early in the morning you may have to pay for it the night before to ensure it is vacant for your arrival.
Q: How far are you from Crawley?
A:We are five minutes from Crawley town centre.
Q: How far are you from Rusper?
A: We are just under ten minutes drive from Rusper.
Q: How far are you from Horsham?
A: Horsham is approximately 15-20 minutes drive.
Q: Do you have a bar?
A: Yes. The bar is open until roughly 10:30pm, later if it is busy.
Q: Do you serve evening meals?
A: Currently we don't, but we are in the process of finding a chef and plan to start by the end of the summer 08.
Q: What time is breakfast served?
A: Breakfast is served from 7:00am to 8:00am during the week and 8:00am to 9:00am at weekends. A continental buffet is available for those leaving early of getting up late.
Q: Do you recommend and local pubs and restaurants?
A: We recommend Ifield Court a hotel just up the road. Their food is excellent and well priced.
Q: Can we walk to the Ifield Court from your hotel?
A: Yes but the direct route is fraught with the danger of speeding traffic and no pavements. There is however a longer way round that takes 45 minutes to and hour. If the sun is shining it's a pleasant walk through country lanes and fields. We'll provide you with a a map so why not set out early and work up an appetite?
Q: Do you have a family room?
A: Our largest room sleeps three and has one double bed and a single bed. For a family of four we would offer you two twin rooms.
Q: Can I book a double room and sleep six kids on one bed?
A: Sadly fire regulations forbid this.
Q: Are all you rooms en suite?
A: Yes, all our rooms have en suite showers.
Q: Do all your windows open fully?
A: Yes.
Q: Do you offer internet access?
A: We have wi-fi but we don't have a dedicated PC for guests to surf the internet - you'll need your own laptop for that. Please note, the hotel's thick old walls do tend to limit the signal a bit. Currently you'll be able to pick it up in the bar but not in the rooms. We are planning to improve this service soon.
